GROTECH Production Ltd of Goole, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2017, scooped the top prize at the Goole and Howdenshire Business Awards this week.
The company, which specialises in agricultural and horticultural chemical product development, manufacture and delivery was also named the leading Environmental business.
It follows Grotech Production Ltd being named Rising Star at the Humber Renewables awards last year after they were the first business in the contract manufacturing sector to achieve Soil Association status.
The business, which is lead by MD, Martin Usher, faced strong competition against businesses which, like Grotech Production Ltd, operate internationally and have leading blue chip clients.
“We have always been very conscious of or environmental footprint and that of our customers. Being named Environmental Business of the Year validates our investment in processes that help mitigate our carbon footprint,” said Mr Usher.
Janice Lawlor, marketing assistant said that winning one award was a fantastic surprise but to win two was overwhelming. “Being named Business of the Year demonstrates that team work and determination count for a great deal.
“Grotech Production Ltd is recognised by customers for adding value at every stage of the manufacturing process be that in research, advice or manufacturing,” she said. “The judges recognised that we have a unique business offer, but that the whole team is committed to making sure we go the extra mile for customers.
“Offering such a diverse range of products and services could lead to a dilution of all or none of them but during our 40 years Grotech Production Ltd has remained focused on manufacturing high quality innovative products that make a difference, while safeguarding the environment, both locally and beyond for future generations. I think the judges recognised that we have a very sustainable business offer.
“Being judged against businesses with international reputations is a great morale booster for everyone particularly after we celebrated 40 years in business and achieved Soil Association accreditation. It is testimony to the whole team here at Britannia Way that our work is seen and not just by our customers.”
In recent months the company, which manufactures in every sector excluding food, drugs and personal care, has helped customers bring products as diverse as affordable garden fertilisers and a car fuel additive to market.
“We aimed to demonstrate the diversity of our offer of both products and services to the attention of the judges and it clearly worked,” said Janice.
